The Ornamental Steel Fence & Railing Series from The Fence Depot combines the timeless elegance of wrought iron with the durability of modern hot-dip galvanized steel and architectural powder coating. The series includes five products: a European-scroll wrought iron style stair railing, spear-top picket fence panels, flat-top picket panels, crank-top (bent-top) security panels, and corner panels — covering residential front yards, commercial perimeters, staircases, and high-security applications across Southern California.
Series Description

The Ornamental Steel Fence & Railing Series from The Fence Depot combines the timeless elegance of wrought iron with the durability of modern hot-dip galvanized steel and architectural powder coating. The series includes five products: a European-scroll wrought iron style stair railing, spear-top picket fence panels, flat-top picket panels, crank-top (bent-top) security panels, and corner panels — covering residential front yards, commercial perimeters, staircases, and high-security applications across Southern California.

All fence and railing components are fabricated from structural steel tubing per ASTM A500 Grade B, hot-dip galvanized after fabrication per ASTM A123 (2.0 oz/ft² minimum zinc), then finished with AkzoNobel Interpon D polyester powder coating meeting AAMA 2604. This duplex galvanize-plus-powder system provides 20+ years of corrosion protection — unlike bare wrought iron that rusts within years or pre-galvanized tubing with zinc only 0.6 oz/ft².

Panels feature welded construction (not mechanical joints), 3/4" square pickets at 3-7/8" O.C. spacing (pool-code compliant), and 2" or 2.5" square posts with flat or pyramid caps. Standard heights range from 36" to 72"; panel widths 72" (6 ft) and 94" (~8 ft). The stair railing is custom-fabricated to match stair rise and run, with handrail height 34"–38" per IRC 2024 and ADA-compliant grip profiles available. All products meet ASTM F1184 and ICC-ES requirements.

TFD-OS01 Wrought Iron Style Stair Railing (Scroll)

European-scroll wrought iron style stair railing for curved or straight staircases. Hand-finished scrollwork forged from 1/2" solid steel bar, 3/4" square vertical balusters, 1-1/4" square top rail with optional dark walnut or oak wood handrail cap. 2"×2" newel posts with decorative caps. Custom-fabricated to match stair rise/run and angle. Handrail height 34"–38" per IRC 2024. Ideal for luxury custom homes, Mediterranean and Spanish-style residences, and grand foyers. Hot-dip galvanized after welding + black powder coat (AAMA 2604).

TFD-OS02 Spear Top Picket Fence Panel

Classic spear-top picket fence panel with pressed spear points on every picket. 3/4" square pickets (16 GA) at 3-7/8" O.C., two 1"×1" horizontal rails (16 GA), 2"×2" posts (16 GA). Pickets extend 2" below bottom rail for anti-dig security. Standard heights 36"–60", panel width 94" (~8 ft). The most popular residential style — traditional look suited to Colonial, Victorian, and Mediterranean homes. Welded construction, hot-dip galvanized + black powder coat. Pool-code compliant at 48"+.

TFD-OS03 Flat Top Picket Fence Panel

Clean flat-top picket fence panel with flush-cut picket tops. 3/4" square pickets (16 GA) at 3-7/8" O.C., two 1"×1" rails (16 GA), 2"×2" posts (16 GA) with base-plate flanges for surface mounting on concrete or walls. Standard size 60" W × 60" H (as shown); also available 72"/94" widths and 36"–72" heights. Modern, minimalist look for contemporary homes, rooftop decks, and commercial planters. Welded construction, hot-dip galvanized + black powder coat. Base-plate mount ideal for existing hardscape.

TFD-OS04 Crank Top (Bent Top) Security Fence Panel

Crank-top (bent-top) security fence panel with pickets curving outward 4"–6" above the top rail to deter climbing. 3/4" square pickets (16 GA) at 3-7/8" O.C., three 1-1/4"×1-1/4" rails (16 GA) for 72" height, 2.5"×2.5" posts (14 GA). Standard size 94" W × 72" H (as shown); also available 60"/84" heights. Provides anti-climb security without barbed wire — ideal for schools, churches, parks, utilities, and commercial perimeters. Welded construction, hot-dip galvanized + black powder coat. Three-rail design for rigidity at 6 ft+.

TFD-OS05 Spear Top Corner Fence Panel

Pre-fabricated 90° corner panel with spear-top pickets on both adjoining sections. 3/4" square pickets (16 GA) at 3-7/8" O.C., two 1"×1" rails (16 GA), heavy 2.5"×2.5" corner post (14 GA) with flat cap. Each leg 47" (half panel) for seamless corner transitions without field mitering. Standard heights 48"–72". Eliminates the weakest point in fence runs — the corner — where field-cut panels often leave gaps or misaligned pickets. Welded construction, hot-dip galvanized + black powder coat. Also available in flat-top and crank-top styles.
